What would a tea party be, without something warm and filling? I present to you my warm, sweet and tangy berry oats that is infused with Five Roses mixed berries tea.

This vibrant red berry oats is delicious, full of flavour and requires minimal effort to make. It is bursting with fresh berries and a sprinkle of cashew nuts for a bit of a bite and crunch. Mornings have just become a whole lot tastier.

This recipe is easily adjustable. You could use any combination of berries you desire or swap out the berries for any other fruit such as banana, mango or peaches. I used frozen berries but you could definitely use fresh berries, if that is what you have in hand.

I love the fact that oats is healthy, hearty and filling just the perfect way to start your day. This oats recipe gets its powerful berry flavour from a combination of Five Roses mixed berries tea and the frozen berries. The mixed berries tea compliments the berry oats effortlessly. The five Roses infusion tea reminds me so much of a summer berry pudding. The tea is refreshing, has a striking red colour and is jam-packed with berry flavours. What is not to love about this tea?

This oats is a quick and easy breakfast that can be made in under 10 minutes. You could even pre-cook your oats the night before, reheat it the next day and top it with the stewed berries and nuts. There you go, a simple, yummy and no fuss mixed berry breakfast.

Mixed berry oats

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

Serves: 2



½ cup/ 125ml boiling water

1 Five Roses mixed berries tea bags

1 cup/ 250ml rolled oats

Salt to taste

½ t/2.5ml cinnamon powder

2½ cup/ 625ml water

1t/ 5ml vanilla essence

1 cup/ 250ml frozen mixed berries

2T/ 30ml honey or sweetener of choice

¼ cup/ 60ml cashew nut or any nuts of choice (roughly chopped)



1. Infuse tea bag in boiling water and set aside.

2. In a pot combine oats, salt, cinnamon and water. Cook the oats for 8-10 minutes or until desired consistency.

3.Remove pot from the heat, stir in vanilla and tea. Cover pot and set aside.

· In a small bowl combine berries and honey, microwave for 2 minutes until berries are soft.

4.Time to assemble, pour oats into serving bowls top with stewed berries, nuts and enjoy.
