PINEAPPLE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE

Who says that ice cream is for milkshakes and cold summer desserts? Well, not me… I have created some fun, new and exciting recipes that incorporate this velvety, creamy and oh so yummy frozen treat.

Before we get stuck into this delicious recipe I would like to thank Virtue Ice Cream for collaborating with me on this blog post and of course for the incredibly tasty ice cream. I will be using Virtue Ice Cream throughout the week to create these awesome recipes.

To start the ice cream festivities, I could not imagine anything better than a refreshing, thick and creamy protein smoothie.

This smoothie is a great recipe to make when pineapples are in season. This will help naturally sweeten the smoothie and give it a beautiful bright yellow colour. You can buy a whole batch of pineapples chop them up and freeze them. Whenever you want a tasty pineapple smoothie you will always have frozen pineapple in your freezer. Making your own frozen pineapple is way cheaper than buying frozen pineapple packs.

To make my pineapple protein smoothie, I have used Virtue Pineapple Ice Cream. I was very excited to see this flavour as an option because I love pineapple. Now to have pineapple flavoured ice cream there are no words to describe my happiness. If you have never tasted this flavour from Virtue before, it has a very pleasant pineapple aroma as well as a sweet flavour, with a touch of tanginess.

This is a very simple recipe, which you can make when you want to add a bit a decadence and creaminess to your smoothies.

If you decide to give this recipe a try please don’t forget to tag me @kitchennewgym and Virtue Ice Cream @virtueicecream in your post. We would love to see your recreations.
