Bananas are a staple in our house. So any change I get to smash up some ripe bananas and make a DELICIOUS banana bread, I definitely take it.
This is a fuss-free, one bowl and guilt free banana bread. All you have to do to make this banana bread is, mash your bananas add the rest of the ingredients and bake. That is how easy it is to make this recipe. I highly suggest serving the bread with smooth and creamy peanut butter.
To change up your bread or add a little variety, add in nuts or seeds of choice. Dark chocolate chips, fresh or dried fruit. This is a gorgeous treat for you or the family give it a try and let me know what you think.
Simple banana bread
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 25-30 minutes
3 ripe medium bananas
2T/ 30ml apple sauce
¼ cup/ 60ml soya or plain yoghurt
1 cup/ 250ml whole wheat flour
½ cup/ 125ml brown sugar
1t/ 5ml vanilla essence
1t/ 5ml cinnamon powder
1t/ 5ml baking powder
½ t/ 2.5ml bicarbonate soda
Pinch of salt
1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a small bread loaf and set aside to use later.
2. In a large bowl, place in bananas and mash using a fork or a masher until smooth as possible.
3. Add in the remaining ingredients, stir until well combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through.
4. Cool, before slicing the banana bread.
