Do you like pap? Well then you will love my recipe for sorghum pap. Filled with nutrients such as protein, iron, vitamins and minerals. Sorghum pap is a great and healthy substitute for your everyday pap or rice.

Cooked coarse sorghum (Sorghum pap)

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Serves: 4-6



4 cups/ 1000ml water Pinch of salt 2 cups/ 500ml coarse sorghum



1. In a medium pot boil the water and salt. 2. Using a whisk gradually whisk in the sorghum. Once it becomes too difficult to whisk use a wooden spoon to continue mixing in the sorghum. 3. Cover the pot with the lid make sure to cover the pot completely. 4. Cook for 30 minutes over a low heat, stir with a wooden spoon occasionally. After 30 minutes, the sorghum should be soft and have a crumbly texture. Seve with your favourite curry or stew and enjoy.
