
SWEET APPLE RAISIN BUNS
Simple, easy and delicious sweet and soft buns flavoured with apple and raisins.

No time to make a yeast dough? Don't worry... These sweet apple raisin buns have no yeast and come together in 30 minutes. Thanks to the apple sauce, self-rising flour and baking powder these buns rise and become light and fluffy. These buns are also oil and dairy free and I am sure they will be a hit in your home.

Sweet apple raisin buns

Ingredients
½ cup/ 125ml apple sauce
1 large egg
1t/5ml vanilla essence
2T/ 30ml rice milk or milk of choice
½ cup/ 125ml brown bread flour
1 cup/ 250ml whole wheat self-rising flour
2T/ 15ml brown sugar
Pinch of salt
1t/ 5ml baking powder
½ cup/ 125ml raisins
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a baking tray.
2. In a large mixing bowl combine apple sauce, egg, vanilla and milk. Whisk together until combined. Using a wooden spoon or a hand mixer, mix in the remaining ingredients.
3. Spoon out a tablespoon of the mixture and pour onto the prepared baking tray. Repeat this until the mixture is finished.
4. Bake the buns for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before enjoying.
